Terms and Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) courses delivered by Gryff’s Mind Space CIC (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By booking or attending ASIST training, you agree to the terms outlined below.
ASIST is a licensed programme developed by LivingWorks Education Inc. Gryff’s Mind Space delivers ASIST through accredited ASIST trainers in accordance with LivingWorks standards.
1. Bookings & Confirmation
All ASIST bookings must be confirmed in writing. A booking is considered secured once payment has been received or a purchase order / written agreement has been confirmed.
Participant places are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, if the session is what we deem to be an ‘open’ session. We reserve the right to decline or defer a booking where ASIST is not considered appropriate for the participant.
2. Payment Terms
Payment terms will be agreed at the time of booking.
Unless otherwise stated, invoices must be paid within 14 days.
For individual bookings, full payment is required in advance.
Late payment may result in loss of a reserved place.
3. Cancellations & Changes (Client)
Individual Participants:
Cancellations made more than 21 days before the course start date will receive a full refund or transfer.
Cancellations made within 21 days are non-refundable.
Non-attendance on any day of the course is non-refundable.
Organisational / Group Bookings:
Cancellations made more than 28 days before the course start date will receive a full refund.
Cancellations made within 14–28 days may incur a 50% fee.
Cancellations made within 14 days may be charged at 100%, as trainer time, materials, and licensing costs will already have been committed.
Substitute participants may be accepted with prior agreement.
4. Cancellations & Changes (Us)
We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule ASIST training due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. trainer illness, low numbers, emergencies).
If we cancel a course, you will be offered:
– A full refund, or
– An alternative course date
We are not responsible for additional costs incurred by participants (e.g. travel or accommodation).
5. Attendance & Course Completion
ASIST is a two-day programme. Participants must attend the full duration of both days to be eligible for a certificate of participation.
Late arrival, early departure, or partial attendance may result in a certificate not being issued, in line with LivingWorks requirements.
6. Emotional Safety & Wellbeing
ASIST addresses suicide directly and may be emotionally demanding.
Participants are encouraged to:
– Monitor their own wellbeing
– Take breaks when needed
– Step out of sessions if content feels overwhelming
ASIST is training, not therapy. Trainers cannot provide counselling, crisis intervention, or follow-up support beyond the scope of the course.
If you are currently experiencing significant distress or suicidal thoughts, we strongly encourage you to seek appropriate support before attending ASIST.
7. Safeguarding & Boundaries
Trainers will follow Gryff’s Mind Space safeguarding policy and LivingWorks guidelines.
Personal disclosures shared during training must be treated as confidential. However, if a safeguarding concern arises, trainers may need to act in line with legal and ethical duties.
8. Training Materials & Intellectual Property
All ASIST materials are the intellectual property of LivingWorks Education Inc.
Materials must not be:
– Copied
– Recorded
– Photographed
– Shared
– Reproduced
– Used to deliver training
without written permission from LivingWorks.
9. Liability
We take reasonable care to deliver ASIST safely and in accordance with licence requirements.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Gryff’s Mind Space does not accept liability for:
– Indirect or consequential losses
– Decisions made by participants following training
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
10. Complaints
If you have concerns or wish to make a complaint, please contact:
info@gryffsmindspace.co.uk
We aim to acknowledge complaints within 5 working days and respond fully within 20 working days.
11. Data Protection
Personal data will be handled in line with UK GDPR and our Privacy Policy and will be used solely for the administration of ASIST training.
12. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
